Somehow, for some reason we don’t keep in touch with people. Somehow we let people slip away. I guess it’s part of life really - constantly changing, regularly refreshing, and without that routine re-invention I suppose our development would be hindered. But revisiting old times and old friends, old relationships and re-awakening old bonds can be an experience which reminds us a lot about who we are and why we are the people we’ve turned into. Meeting up with Peter last night, an old school friend, who I haven’t sat down and had a decent chat with in way too long, did remind me of one thing - that sometimes those bonds remain, no matter what distance. Sometimes you can just
return to a point in time and pick up where you left off. The years may have been added but the people that we are, and were, have stayed in safe protection, somehow, so that getting back together was easy. He was him, I was me and the things that made us friends years before were right back there… and my new friend Papa John was right there too.
